Committees

 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP/COMMERCIAL MEMBERSHIP
This committee seeks and encourages individuals who are in the real estate industry, but not necessarily pursuing an IREM designation, to apply for membership as an Associate Member.  The committee Aslo promotes membership for commercial property managers through the new Accredited Commercial Manager certification.

The committee members will provide application information and assistance with applications when requested and work to encourage associate members and commercial members to participate in all local events and further their IREM education.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
This committee identifies a local charity or community organization that would benefit from the support of the chapter, whether financially or through volunteering of time and energy. The committee plans fundraising and other supportive events for the charity or community organization.

ARM MEMBERSHIP
This committee seeks out and encourage qualified individuals to apply for the ARM certification, reviews all ARM applicant forms, and conducts interviews of applicants.  The committee acts as a liaison between the chapter and its ARM participants and works with the assistance of the Program Committee to provide programming specific to the needs of the ARM members, 

This committee assists with offering the RES201 class, hosts a follow-up application workshop, and establishes a mentor program.

DESIGNATED MEMBERSHIP
This committee seeks and encourages qualified individuals to apply for admission to candidacy for the CPM designation and assists existing CPM Candidates by advising and guiding them with completing the requirements for the CPM designation.  

The Committee also seeks qualified firms and encourages them to apply for the AMO designation, interviews applicants for the AMO designation, prepares recommendations on behalf of the chapter to the national AMO Committee, and acts as a liaison between the chapter and its AMO member firms.

EDUCATION
This committee determines the educational needs of the chapter membership and sponsors educational offerings on current real estate management issues that fulfill members’ continuing education credit. 

The committee also follows through on logistics for educational offerings, publicizing, and promoting attendance at all educational programs.

INDUSTRY PARTNERS
This committee establishes the benefits package for Friends participants, monitors Friends usage of benefits, particularly with the Golf Tournament Committee, coordinates appropriate recognition at membership meetings and special events, and plans and hosts an event specifically for Friends each December.

GOLF
This committee schedules and plans all facets of the chapter’s fall golf tournament.  The committee coordinates registration of foursomes and hole sponsorships with the Industry Partners and Sponsorships and oversees general logistics for the event.

PROGRAMS
This committee develops and publishes the monthly luncheon program, deciding venue and securing speakers.

LEGISLATIVE
This committee monitors and reviews local legislation and makes recommendations to the chapter on proposed, pending, and prospective legislation.  The committee directs communication of this information to the members through e-mail, meeting presentations and the chapter newsletter of current events.
